Please Hold...

Hello, all! You may have noticed I haven't been posting.  We are just now getting settled into our new home, still don't have internet and we are preparing to leave town this evening.

Also, I am trying to get caught up with some online classes so when I have internet connection, that is where my energy is going.  I hope that after the July 4th holiday, I will be back on track and ready to post consistently.

Looking forward: Tomorrow on Be Lovely

Wednesdays will be designated for music, movie, and book reviews...starting next Wednesday :) We are still in the middle of our move so my days are mostly consumed with that. I won't leave you hanging, though! Tomorrow I will explain what's up with Be Lovely; what it means and why I named the blog that.

I know the blog is pretty vacant as of now. I really look forward to getting my computer back and having an internet connection at my house again.
I'll leave you with this photo of my garden at the new place. I'm going to do a few projects to clean it up and add some color but there are a few gems like these trumpet flowers. I will, of course, be posting about the gardening process.

Lovely Parties

We are preparing for yet another move. When all the packing and unpacking, moving and lifting begins to overwhelm me, I focus on the light at the end of the tunnel. Not only will we be settled in and comfortable in a new home, but we will also be throwing a house-warming party! What better way to warm a new home then to enjoy the company of lots of friends and eat lots of good food!

I was immediately inspired by this image in Design* Sponge's "Beyond the Big Day: Pancake Breakfast" post. You can find it here.

I plan on making lots of pancakes and having a sort-of "upside down dinner" (as my momma would call it) with breakfast as the main course, decaf coffee and maybe even mimosas for my guests.

Under Construction

Work in Progress

I am starting this blog as an outlet. I suppose that is why most people start blogs or write in journals. As a wife, a mother, a student, a friend, and all the things those positions encompass, I have little that belongs to just me. My hope for this blog is that it would be a place for me to go that feels personal to my own tastes and would also speak to my readers, whoever they may be. As you can see, the layout is unfinished. That will come with time, I'm busy!

So, what's to come?

I will be posting about some of my favorite things: Design (interior and clothing), food and entertaining, music, movies, books, vacations, and DiY projects. I may even throw in some current events and issues. I am going to try to post daily, but bare with me!

Time is flying. Abbey is 10 months old today and I feel like I've only blinked. I don't take enough time to sit and soak her up or play with her just to watch her laugh. I'm so occupied with school and the house and when I am trying to entertain her it's usually so I can get a reprieve to do something productive. It seems that the most productive and valuable thing I could do is to sit and stare at my everchanging and quickly growing girl. 

 

I love this. She fell asleep in the car when we were out on a photo shoot for her Daddy's band, I Heard A Lion. I love her little rosie cheeks and dolly mouth. I love how she kept a hold on her keys even when she finally gave in to sleep. And her little feet are so pudgy and little. I have to focus on the babiest things about her these days.  I know time won't slow down--but I think I should.
